David and Marilyn are arranging a visit to Sussex Prairie Gardens ( sussexprairies.co.uk) near Henfield on the 14th August.

For more information on the gardens visit SussexPrairies.co.uk

We have taken SexMog before to this wonderful 8 acre garden a few years ago but the garden is an ever changing palette of prairie planting and colours and has had many  new features added since the early days. It is a feast for photographers! The garden is planted in naturalistic style with some 50,000 plants.
We have arranged for the founders and owners, Paul and Pauline McBride, to give a talk first on how the garden was built and timed our visit to coincide with one of their many events – THE INDIAN BAZAAR SUMMER MARKET. This will be spread out over several marquees and consists of fabrics, clothes, jewellery etc all ethically traded from India. THE TALK AND ENTRY TO THE BAZAAR WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE ENTRY PRICE TO THE GARDEN OF £10 PER HEAD, PAYABLE ON THE DAY AT THE TICKET KIOSK, BY CASH OR BY CARD.
There is also a stylish tea shop which will operate as a kiosk selling takeaway teas/coffees/home made cake but no sandwiches. You can also picnic in their extensive grounds with your own picnic.
Paul and Pauline encourage visitors to walk into the flower beds and to enjoy the flowers close up. Provided it is not wet we will be able to park the Morgans on the lawns close to the flower beds as we have done before. Should it be wet then another car park will be used.
The Indian Bazaar will be offering vegetarian curries for sale – these consist of mixed curries, chapati, rice etc with other options. The price for these will be around £9 or £10 each, payable directly to the Bazaar.
Attendance numbers will be required by 25th July please and numbers for those wishing to order a curry by the same date. We look forward to hearing from you.
