Sexmog visit to Duxford

There’s been lots of interest shown in the proposed visit to Duxford in March 2025 – over 30 of us in fact. So now is the time for us to confirm the dates and book our places in the motel.

Date

We shall need bed and breakfast accommodation for the three nights of 18^th  19^th and 20^th:

Tues 18^th March, arrive pm, evening meal at motel, bed.

Wed 19^th March, breakfast , Duxford, evening meal at local pub, bed

Thu 20^th March, breakfast, other attraction, evening meal at local pub, bed

Frid 21^st March. Breakfast .Depart

You can choose a shorter visit or book yourself a longer stay if you wish.

How to Book

Go to the website of Premier Inns www.premierinn.com Navigate to their Cambridge North Girton motel and enter the dates of the nights you want to stay. 18^th 19^th and 20^th March 2025. Select two adults if you’re a couple, one if you’re single. Search for prices.

There are three ways to pay: Flex, Advance and Standard. Standard is cheapest but there’s no refund if you change your mind or get ill. Recommend Flex or Advance.

At the time of writing the Advance deal is showing £296 for two adults in one room for three nights. The closer to March you wait, the more expensive it will become.

Click on Book Now and add your breakfasts – £10.99 Premier Inn Breakfast or £8.99 Continental Breakfast. Wi-fi £5 per day. Continue to book.

There are other ways to book e.g. booking.com, Trivago that could be cheaper. I cannot offer advice here, make your own decisions

Duxford

The museum offers a car club visit. I quote

“Visiting as a car or owners club you can enjoy a bespoke display show area, early access and a full day at IWM Duxford. For enquiries, please e-mail duxfordevents@iwm.org.uk”

I have made enquiries to see if this might suit our needs.

Thursday 20^th

Free choice of where you go. Google “attractions near Cambridge” to see what might suit your taste.

Bletchley Park and the National Computer Museum is an hour’s drive away.

There are some fascinating museums in Cambridge.

National Trust Wimpole Estate is nearby
