This clashes with the funeral for Stuart Williamson, so The Sloop gathering will be reorganised for a later date.

The lunch is two courses and coffee/tea £30 a head

You can choose two courses out of the three on offer.

Starters – Sloop smoked salmon, pickled cucumber, dill and caviar cream

– Ham hock terrine, homemade piccalilli, toast

– Leek and potato soup, truffle oil

Mains     – Chicken leg ‘Coq au Vin’ mashed potato, kale

– Monkfish tail (on the bone) herb risotto

– Stilton arancino, pickled pear puree, roasted chicory, walnuts

Desserts  –  High Weald Dairy cheeseboard, chutney, crackers

– Dark chocolate and coffee cake, grottine cherries

– Apple and berry crumble, vanilla ice cream

The Sloop is situated just by the Ouse with a large car park and, subject to weather, a  beautiful garden to enjoy before lunch. It is the sister pub to the Jolly Sportsman we visited a couple of years ago
