The event is planned as follows.
1 Meet at Nutley Sports & Prestige Centre at 10:30 am. There is limited parking in front of garage but the main parking is directly opposite garage. The garage is located on the main A22 in the middle of Nutley Village TN22 3NN.
Mathew Eade will offer coffee / Tea and Pastries for members first. Please look around the cars in the garage. Mathew will then give a short presentation on his business and the classic car market. He would then like to progress to a Q&A session. We will leave Nutley at 11.30am.
2 We will then drive to Mathews home at Wych Cross ( in convoy about 3 miles). His home is located in a renovated barn on a farm and there is parking for 20/21 cars on the driveway. Mathew will show us his private collection.
3 We then depart at about 12.30 to drive for lunch at:
Coolings Garden Centre
Coleman’s Hatch Rd,
Wych Cross
RH185 JW
They have provided a special parking area for us and a lunch area in their cafe.
There is a compromise for the additional numbers. A more limited menu is on offer  and I need you to confirm your choices. Our numbers combined with normal customers will put their restaurant staff under considerable pressure. Just need to keep it simple.
Menu Choices
A  Ploughman’s lunch with Ham, Cheddar,
Stilton with Salad, pickled onions, coleslaw, crisps and crusty roll.
B Quiche of the day with salad, crisps and coleslaw ( veg option available)
C Jacket Potato with cheese, beans or tuna.
D Toasties (variety ). They can only cope with a few of these. They are cheese & tomato, cheese & ham, tuna with melted cheese, brie & cranberry.
They have a small number of staff and can cope with a few other selections like sandwiches. They have cakes and normal drinks menu.
Let me know your choice so they can prepare meals in advance. Its a lovely garden setting and you will enjoy the views, plants and other sale items.
Please let me have your choices by July 1st.

August 2025

Speedmog is the sprint and hill climb championship organised under the auspices of the Morgan Sports Car Club.

We compete in over twenty events each year all over England and Wales in a season that began in March and will finish in October. They usually take place on a Sunday and consist of two practice runs and then two timed runs which determine the winner on a handicap system based on the power of the car and its weight.

We often have fellow Morgan enthusiasts come to spectate and meet the drivers and see the cars. The nearest event to your centre is Goodwood on Saturday 2 August. It would be great to see members of Sexmog there. You would get a warm welcome.

Further details are on the Speedmog website speedmog.co.uk

Best wishes,

Howard Burton on behalf of Speedmog

Forwarded by Alan from SogMog Centre Sec

Good afternoon fellow centre secretaries, this year is the 50th Anniversary of the formation of Sogmog and to celebrate we are looking at the possibility of a gathering of Morgans at the Royal Armouries Museum based at Fort Nelson on the hill above Portsmouth. In order to have a display of cars on the parade ground we need a minimum of 50 cars.

The proposed date is Sunday 17th August.

The aim of this email is to judge potential attendance, in the hope that we get to 50 cars. So I’d be grateful if you could put this out to your members and ask them to reply to me if they would like to attend – no commitment at this stage. If we get enough interest then hopefully the event can proceed and I will publish further details to those interested.

For those of you that don’t know the Royal Armouries Museum is housed in one of the Napoleonic Forts on the top of Portsdown Hill.

If you want to know a bit more about the fort the link is as follows:

Fort Nelson

Regards Colin Cruickshank

South Coast Centre Secretary

Our three social secretaries and I think that we’d like to support SogMog on their birthday.

Put this date in your diaries and watch the website/emails for more details nearer the time.

In the meantime, please send an email to SogMog Centre Sec Colin Cruickshank colin_cruickshank@live.co.uk informing him of your interest.

Cheers

Alan. Centre Sec

UPDATE from Sogmog

Good afternoon all and thank you so much for expressing an interest in attending our 50th anniversary celebration at Fort Nelson on Sunday 17th August.

At the last count we had 52 cars, which enables us to put on a display of cars in the Parade Ground of the Fort. So the event will now definitely go ahead.

Can I ask you to put it firmly in your diaries. We should have 5 centres represented.

NOTE for Sexmoggers, unfortunately this is also the date for Classics at Penshurst for which  SexMog members may have already signed up.

23/08/2025

Message from Mike Harwood on behalf of Hopmog

Every 2nd and 4th Saturday morning we have a breakfast meeting for classic sporty cars and usually we have a theme to encourage the attendance of a particular marque or theme.  On August 23rd Morgan and Bristol are the invited makes and Hopmog will be supporting this.  A few   SexMog members have attended in the past and I wonder if you could publish it on your event calendar.  The Moat Hotel is a couple of miles towards the motorway from B.H.M. the event runs from 9.00AM to 11.00AM though we start arriving from about 8.45 AM .

You could refer to me if anyone has any queries or wants any details, my phone is  01732 761863 or e mail me.  Thanks.

Michael Harwood

Hopmog and Sexmog always attend the Bexhill 100 Classic and Custom Car Show and 2025 is no exception. See Bexhill100MC

It’s on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August at Polegrove Recreation Ground, Brockley Road, Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex, TN39 3HA.

2025 is their 20th anniversary and they aim to reach £200,000 collected and given to local charities since its inception.

There is room to display 500 vehicles; an eclectic mix of Classic, American, Commercial, Custom & Modified cars and vans, also classic motorcycles and scooters. There will also be 60 trade stands and catering outlets. Music is provided by Bexhill Radio and “The Other Band” and there is also a popular dog show.

The Polegrove Recreation Ground is just inland from the beach and promenade and Bexhill town is approximately a 10-to-15 minute walk away along the seafront. Bring a picnic, use the refreshment facilities on site or enjoy a walk into town for there are numerous cafes and tea shops. Remember to bring folding chairs and sunscreen – oh, and an umbrella!

Please note your vehicle must be on site from 9.30am until 4.00pm.

There are 2 Booking Forms to complete; the Hopmog on-line one (go to Hopmog | Morgan Sports Car Club South East Centre | England then click on Events, Events Calendar and scroll down) and the Bexhill 100 Classic Car Club Official one which should be posted back to them with £5 cheque and a stamped-addressed envelope.
