August 2021

PLEASE NOTE – THIS MEETING IS ON A WEDNESDAY, NOT THE USUAL SUNDAY

Our August meeting will be at 1.00p.m. in the upstairs room at The Bent Arms, in Lindfield . After lunch there will be a simple, walking treasure hunt around Lindfield, taking approximately an hour. There is nothing to collect, just searching for the answers to clues. Sexmoggers are welcome to come just to the lunch, or just for the treasure hunt if they wish.

The noggin is being organised by David and Marilyn Neary and Geoff Roberts.

The menu is shown below and the pub needs us to submit our choices well in advance. Please advise David and Marilyn Neary at mogsatappletree@googlemail.com of your menu choices by  26 July. Please give the name of each attendee and their choices. You will need to make payment for food and drinks (plus any tip if you choose) direct to the pub on the day.

The Ashington fete organisers have invited members of the MSCC to to display their cars at the small car show which forms part of the fete. Additionally, if you wish you can join the carnival procession.

The Fete itself is the normal village event with a flower show, various stalls, catering facilities and normally the local Harris’s Old Tyme Fun Fair, covid permitting, and finishing with fireworks about 10 pm.

Should you be interested in supporting this event please enter individually/per car using the entry form shown below which has details of the times etc. If you are entering could you please let me know so I have an idea of the numbers, hopefully to arrange to park together, so Jan and I won’t be lonely.

If you have any queries please either email me on turrell345@btinternet.com or call 01903892411.

Regards John Turrell.

Details to follow

12/09/2021
10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Firle Hill Climb, Firle

For September we will revert to the 2nd Sunday with a day at The Firle Hill Climb Revival. John Loveridge has organised for us a level and flat grassed area near the paddock where we can park and picnic (bring your own tables and chairs). This is mainly a spectating day but it is possible for 2 cars to participate (climb the hill) at a cost of £50 per car, an entry form is on The Firle Hill Climb Revival website and the closing date for entries is 30th June. However only cars 1989 or earlier are allowed to drive up the hill. There is no charge for spectators but as this is a charity event for 2 East Sussex charities for disabled children it is hoped that all will make a suitable donation. As this is a revival meeting period dress is welcomed. Although this is called The Firle Hill Climb Revival it is not in Firle itself. The address is The Paddock, Bopeep Lane, Near Selmeston BN26 6UJ.

Let John know if you are going to attend at jonmaglov@gmail.com
