After some effort Jim Stokes has agreed to a group visit . This will be on the 25th March 2026.
I need to establish names and numbers of those interested to attend. Please reply by the end of November. I have to organise this event early to secure the date.
These workshops represent one of the world’s foremost restorers of historic racing cars with a renowned focus on pre war racing Alpha Romeos. They also manufacture historic racing engines and complete the coachwork on some of these exceptional cars.
This is a unique opportunity to see first hand how these amazing cars are renovated and repaired. Numbers will be limited to about 25 members with an organised tour lasting about 2 hours and a buffet lunch provided at the end of the tour.
The cost per person is £30 which I will collect nearer the date. Start time will be 10am. The visit and lunch will last about 3 hours.
Jim Stokes will attend lunch and members will be able to ask more detail questions at that time.
Please look at the Jim Stokes Web Site www.Jswl.co.uk to see in more detail what their work involves.
Their factory is just off the A27 close to Waterlooville. Journey time will be between 50- 90 minutes depending on where you live and traffic but generally following good roads.
Car Parking is provided outside their factory.
Please regard this as a unique opportunity and rarely offered to clubs.
The attendees will be chosen on a first come basis if oversubscribed.

From his website “Jim Stokes Workshops was established over 40 years ago. Having served his apprenticeship, during which he spent time working within legendary companies such as Aston Martin, Jim decided to strike out on his own. From a home workshop he began repairing, restoring and rebuilding historic racing cars of all the great marques, but one marque in particular has always stood out for Jim and has long been the focal point of his work: Alfa Romeo.”

Details to follow.
