Miscellany November 2018

The highlight of the month of September for those of us lucky enough to live close to Goodwood is the Revival,  and this year was no exception with another amazing 3 days taking us back in time to the 50/60’s.  A packed programme of races kept us all enthralled and for once we had a completely rain free event.  Sadly, once again, there were no Morgans competing although an SLR was present in the paddock and took part in a parade of previous winners.  The ‘Duke’ was known to have owned a 3 wheeler in his younger days but I can’t believe that this left such a bad impression on him that he now feels unable to invite the only sports car still in British ownership.

On a more mundane note 26 members and 13 Morgans enjoyed Sunday lunch at the Spur in Slindon.  A warm welcome as always, some excellent food and a good drive out on a sunny autumn day.

Our next meeting will be the usual gathering for the VCC London to Brighton Run at the Jolly Tanners in Staplefield Green on Sunday 4th.November.  The pub has told us they will open at first light for breakfast, coffee etc., and we recommend fold-up chairs and warm clothing.  No reservations needed

We can now confirm that we will be returning to the Cricketers in Duncton for this years Christmas lunch.  Despite the dreadful weather last year we all managed to make it and enjoyed a traditional Christmas meal in cosy surroundings suitably decorated for the event.
