Summer Party ! 3 September 2017

1967 was an iconic year for many of us who remember the heady days of the 60s. Can it really be 50 years ago!
In June of that year The Beatles launched their Sgt. Pepper album, which probably all of us have in our collections and it was the year that kickstarted the SUMMER OF LOVE, psychedelia, flowers in the hair, kaftans etc
We thought it would be a good idea to celebrate this great period in our lives with a fun party.

DATE: Sunday, 3rd September

LOCATION : Copthorne Guide Centre, Borers Arms Road, Copthorne, West Sussex ( nearest satnav RH10 3LH. The location is opposite OLIVERS WINE BAR ( which used to be the Hi Fi outlet for those familiar with our Christmas parties.)

TIME: 4PM TO 8PM ( We have to vacate the Centre by 8pm)

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a plate of food to share for the ” food table”. This can be either a main course or a pudding. The Centre does not have a licence to sell alcohol but you can bring your own bottle of your favourite tipple. We will provide two punches, one with alcohol and one without.

PARKING: There is a small car park alongside the Guide Centre which will be marked with a chequered flag outside. We will also make arrangements for overflow parking outside Olivers Wine Bar.

DRESS. We would hope that as many people as possible would delve into their wardrobes and attics to find attire appropriate to the Flower Power era to help the event go with a swing but this is of course optional.

COST.  The cost if £5 a head to help pay for the hire of the Centre, decorations and the punch, payable on the day.

There will be music of the era, some quizzes and more!

Some people have said to us either at a Noggin or other event that they intend to come and will confirm by email but have not yet done so. As we need to know numbers by 25th August for catering and space purposes we would be grateful if anyone who would like to attend and has not yet confirmed to us, could kindly do so by email before this date.
