The Mill are holding a classic car event which just
happens to be right on Ann and Quentins doorstep. We have been asked to provide 10
cars for the display and to include as many different models and ages as possible. Please
contact us with expressions of interest. Ann and Quentin have kindly agreed to provide
overflow parking if we have more than the ten cars. It has been suggested that we may be
able to picnic at the event venue prior to the start at 2.30pm. More details about this
will be given in next months Miscellany. |

It is some time since we visited this pub which is located on the north side of the A27
close to the junction with B2225. |

in the middle of the village on the east side of the main road (B2110/B2026) which runs
through the village. For those who like to walk this could be for you! There is the
converted railway line nearby. Steam engines didnt like hills, so its nice and
level! |

Scenic Run & Barbecue |

The scenic run will start at the public car park in
Petworth, gather at 10.00am ready to leave by 10.30 at the latest. You may like to bring a
flask of coffee to have while we prepare ourselves and receive our instructions from John
Turrell. For those not doing the scenic run or getting lost while doing it we plan
to arrive at The White Horse for a 1.30 barbecue the cost of which will be the same as
last year; £11.50 for 2 courses payable on the day. For those going straight to the pub
(or getting lost!) the post-code is RH13 6LL Map ref: TQ190245. Can we please have numbers
for both the scenic run and the barbecue. |

Beer and Skittles evening |

BN5 9AD (Map ref: TQ211182). From 7.00p.m. This pub
is out of the town to the north of Henfield on the west side of the A281. Those wishing to
work up an appetite for the pizza might enjoy a walk along the banks of the River Adur
first! The pub has made a charge for the use of the skittles alley, so we will need £2.50
per head please. It would be helpful if we could have this in advance. |

Brooklands Museum |
Gates open at 10.00 am. Entrance fee is £9 per adult
or £8 for senior citizens. It is free of course to Brooklands members. As well as the
excellent motor museum the test hill will be open. Subject to any unfortunate incidents,
normally you will get 3 trips up the hill, but Aeros ground too easily so cant go
up. There is a café on site which has recently been refurbished and is under new
management. If you are in your Morgan, use the Campbell entrance in Brooklands Road (B374)
KT13 0QN. If not in a Morgan, use the Mercedes World entrance off Brooklands Drive KT13
0SL. |
